The journey into fluid artistry

My passion for fluid art began with a fascination for colour and movement. I first discovered this intriguing medium on YouTube, finding the process of watching the colours interact both relaxing and captivating. This led me to explore and eventually create my own unique pieces, embracing the unpredictable beauty of fluid acrylics.

I loved art at school but struggled to produce realistic looking paintings or sketches.  I failed my art o'level !!! Maybe back then I should've realised that the 'traditional' methods weren't for me and I would never be able to draw a bowl of fruit or a person who was in proportion and didn't look like a character in a horror movie. How I envied those that had those wonderful skills.

Over the next 40 years (and some) I yearned to express my creative self and spent many intermittently frustrating periods trying to produce anything resembling a landscape, a still life or a cat. That's when I stumbled upon the fluid art scene. I had a try, and was hooked from the very start. The joy and anticipation of planning which colours to use, how to lay them down, the technique to use and then the unpredictability of the final outcome. It really didn't matter how a piece turned out as each one was a journey, and a learning curve, in its own right. My love of contemporary art was born.

And so I have finally found 'my art style'. The intriguing and fascinating ebb and flow of the paints, the merging of colours, and the hidden depths of each unique piece. I just hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I have enjoyed creating them.

Evoking emotions through colour and flow

When people view my art, I want them to feel any emotion that resonates with them, be it joy, happiness, intrigue, puzzlement, or simply calm. My aim is for my artwork to encourage contemplation and make people think. Each creation is unique, designed to stir individual feelings and perspectives.

Embracing the freedom of artistic expression

One of the most important things I've learned on my artistic journey is that there is no right or wrong when it comes to art. It is entirely subjective to the individual viewer. This belief fuels my creative process, allowing me to experiment freely with techniques and compositions, knowing that each piece will connect with someone in its own unique way.

"Christine's art is mesmerising. The colours and movement bring such a unique energy to the room. Truly captivating!"
